Shot in the spring and summer of 2002, the TV series The Private Detective Mike Hama is a spin-off of a trio of films made by Kaizo Hayashi in the mid-90s. Starring Masatoshi Nagase (Electric Dragon 80,000 V, Suicide Club, Mystery Train and many others) as the titular sleuth, the series consists of 12 episodes, each helmed by a different director.

Midnight Eye visited the set in April of 2002, during the shooting of the credit sequence for the series. Along with Nagase we see British fashion photographer and filmmaker Glenn Luchford, who directed the sequence which shows Mike spray-painting his logo all over Yokohama.
